GINGERBREAD MOLASSES HOMEMADE DOG TREATS

Making your own homemade dog treats can be a fun reward for you and your dog, and lets you control what goes into the recipe thereby ensuring your pet is getting a nutritious and wholesome snack. You can also tailor the recipes to your dog’s taste preferences as well as any dietary restrictions.

    1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper; set aside.
    2. In a large bowl, mix all the dry ingredients together. (Flour, baking soda, cloves, cinnamon, ginger.)
    3. In a separate bowl, mix all the wet ingredients together. (Peanut butter, molasses, egg, vanilla, water.)
    4. Mix both the dry and wet ingredients together. Knead dough until it is no longer sticky. Set aside and let rest for @ 10 minutes.
    5. Dust cutting board lightly with flour. Work your dough into a round flat surface and then roll dough @ ¼ - ½ “thick.
    6. Cut your bones out using your size of choice doggie bone cookie cutter. Place cut out biscuits onto parchment lined baking sheet. Bake off for 18-20 minutes (20 minutes for a crunchier treat)
    7. Let completely air cool before giving to your dog. For a treat that’s less moist, turn off oven and let dry in oven for @15-20 minutes.

    Notes;

    With any leftover cookie dough, roll it up in a ball and freeze it for a snack!
