Bacon & Cheddar Cheese Bite Dog Treats

Making your own homemade dog treats can be a fun reward for you and your dog, and lets you control what goes into the recipe thereby ensuring your pet is getting a nutritious and wholesome snack. You can also tailor the recipes to your dog’s taste preferences as well as any dietary restrictions.

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  2. Cook bacon and let cool. Dice into small bites.
  3. Stir powdered milk and beaten egg into PET CHEF broth.
  4. Add flour, 1 cup at a time.
  5. Fold in shredded cheddar cheese and bacon.
  6. Roll on heavily floured surface to ½ inch thickness
  7. Cut dough into shapes using a cookie cutter (or knife) and place on cookie sheet lined with parchment paper or baking mat.
  8. Bake for 40-50 minutes, then cool on tray for 20 minutes.
  9. Treats will harden upon cooling.

3 cups Whole Wheat Flour

1 cup Chicken Broth

1/3 cup Bacon (diced)

1/2 cup Cheddar Cheese (shredded)

1/2 cup Powdered Milk

1 each Egg

How long will these treats stay good for? What would be the best way to store them to decrease chance of molding? Thanks for the recipe!
